A week later Jack and Darkwish are alone, they are walking alone in the woods. This is what Darkwish wanted; he has Jack right where he wants him to be. Just then Shadowwatch, Frostfight, and Oya come out from behind a few trees. “Well, well, well what do we have here? It seems like the chosen one is alone. Shadowwatch said. “Good work Darkwish the plan want great.” Frostfight said. Jack knew that he was surrounded. He only has one chance, but his powers aren’t working. He can’t figure out why they won’t work. “Don’t waist your strength on your powers. It’s only making it easier for us.” Shadowwatch said in a frightening voice. Jack knew that he had no choice but to surrender. Then before they take him away he communicates to Shirukin through thoughts. “Shirukin,” he says “They captured me. We were right all along about Darkwish. It was a trap from the beginning.” “Don’t worry I’ll think of something, but for right now once they get you back to there den they have to wait for a few days before they can do anything. During that time you must use your powers to escape. If that doesn’t work I will come for you before anything happens.” Shirukin responds.
When they get Jack back to there den they put him in a spot where he can be watched at all times. They tell him if he tries to do anything they will attack him. Jack knows that he can’t die but he also know that it will hurt if they attack him. So to get away he has to do something when none of them are looking. So he decides to try to escape the night before they transform him to be used for evil, but for right now he must keep quiet and not do anything. The night finally arrives when Jack can escape, but if he can’t he knows that Shirukin will be here to recue him before they transform him. He makes sure that no one is watching him and then he runs. He notices that they are coming after him, he then lifts up his hands and to his relief his powers work. The burst of energy comes out of his hands and goes straight for Frostfight and Oya. After that they give up, but he knows that they will try to capture him again. Jack almost makes it back to Treesong, but before he gets there he blacks out. When he wakes up he sees a wolf standing right in front of him, but to his relief it’s Shirukin. “Are you o.k?” He asks. “Yes I’m fine. They tried to catch me but they couldn’t, but I know that they will try again.” Jack responds. Shirukin and Jack go back to there den. When they get back everyone is relieved to see him especially Zane. That night Jack is talking to Zane. He is telling her, what happened and how they captured him. He said how Darkwish was behind the whole thing; he also tells her how they will try to capture him again. Then Shirukin comes in and tells him that he is going to need more training before the first battle. The next day Jack and Shirukin are outside training. Jack is practicing with the powers he already knows. Just then he feels something come to him something that he never felt before. Could this be a new power, but he decides to just let it go. Later that day Jack and Zane are left watching the den while the others are out hunting, “It seems that were always the ones who watch the den. When are we going to go on a hunt?” Jack asked. “Probably not until we defeat Darkpool and the Diablos. I think Shirukin wants you to be safe.” Zane answers. “I guess your right.” Jack said. “You see Shirukin cares for each and every wolf living in his pack. He acts like a father to everyone. He doesn’t want anyone to go through what he did in the Diablo Pack. Zane explains. While there talking Shirukin and the others return. He over hears Jack and Zane talking about him, but he doesn’t care because now that Jack knows about that he feels that Jack is his own son now.
         The next day Shirukin and Jack are going for more water. As they are going there Frostfight and Oya come out from behind the trees. “Well it seems that the chosen one is with the alpha today.” Frostfight says.  “You don’t want to mess with us Frostfight.” Shirukin said. “Did you here that Oya he said that we shouldn’t mess with them.” Frostfight said mockingly. All of a sudden Jack lifts up his hands and then Frostfight starts rising up and then Jack throws him against a rock. After that Frostfight and Oya run off. Then Shirukin and Jack continue on their walk to get more water for them and the pack. They decide that they’re not going to tell anyone about what just happened. Then Jack asks Shirukin a personal Question. “What was it like when you were a pup?” “Well I was born and raised in the Diablo pack. As I grew up I rose through the ranks and then became the alpha, until the day my pack turned on me. They shunned me from the pack. Since then I started Treesong and I vowed vengeance on the Diablo pack for what they did to me. That’s why we need to train. So when we go into the final battle will be ready to stop the darkness from returning once and for all.” Shirukin explained.
When they get back they find everyone playing around and having a good time. “Well, Shirukin, it seems that you have put together a loving and caring pack.” Jack said. “Yeah, I guess your right. Everybody likes each other, everyone gets along, and most of all were all one big family.” Shirukin answers. While everybody is having a good time at Treesong back in the Diablo Packs’ den there is another plan unfolding to capture Jack. “If capture him after one of the battles, he will be weak. So that will be our time to capture him, and while he regains his strength, that’s when will transform him into one of us.” Shadowwatch said menacingly.
A few days later Jack and Max are out side talking. Today is a very sad day for them. Today would be there sisters’ birthday, but they can’t celebrate because of what happened. Jack and Max are trying to remember the good times they had with their sister because they know that life was good when she was around, but when she was doing her
job they were invisible to their parents. Then Rosepetal come over to them to try to comfort them. Rosepetal with her loving nature acts like the mother they never had. Rosepetal is always loving and caring because she knows that when she does that everyone feel safe in her presence. Rosepetal was raised in a pack that only cared about the attacking and even killing the wolves that disobeyed the rules. When she got tired of that she left the pack and found Shirukin wandering in the woods. That when they created Treesong and Rosepetal vowed that she will love and care for any wolf that comes into the pack. “Hey, don’t cry. I know you to miss your sister, and I know she was the only one who noticed you, but sometimes you have to let go of the past.” Rosepetal said in a soothing voice. “Thanks; I know we have to let go of the past, but it’s hard because even though that they didn’t notice them; Deep down our parents actually cared about us in some way or another.” Jack said.  
That night Jack and Zane are alone together. They are discussing what’s going to happen when he gets transformed. They are also discussing if they are going to have pups. They are also discussing what’s going to happen when they take over Treesong. “It’s a lot to go over in one night. So lets discuss this another time.” Zane said. In a few days the first of the small battles is coming, so Jack knows that he must train everyday or he might loose control of his powers and if that happens they might loose the battle. If they loose the battle and the Diablo pack will capture Jack and they will use his powers to make the darkness return.
